Summer is the perfect time to move.  Thanks to Daylight Savings, as well as the season, the sun is out later to make house hunting and moving easier. Most schools are out of session in the summer, so you'll be able to get moved in before the school year starts.

 

If you plan to live in a home for at least 5 years, it may make sense for you to buy.  If you haven't owned a home for at least three years, you may qualify for buyer tax credits of up to $10,000, as well as special financing.  If you currently own a home, be advised that the market conditions have probably changed from when you purchased, and you should check to see how new financing guidelines may affect your purchase of additional property. For many people, it makes sense to rent.  If you're saving up to buy a home, or are uncertain that you will be staying in one place for five years, then you should consider renting. You can rent what you need now with your current job and familial situation.  In a few years, your needs may be different, and with a rental it's much easier to relocate.
